The Battle of Perfex was a battle for the control of SW Barlucolia, fought between Allega and the allied forces of Pefear and Malmatel at the very beginning of the Allega-Barlucolia war (which still has no official name). With the marginal help of a few destroyers from the Pamavel, Pefear and Malmatel managed to hold their defensive lines quite longer than expected, buying much needed time for their reserve forces to organize. The city was still taken by Allegan forces.
Note that this article has been written just after the battle (fought in the Order of Battle Pacific command interface), so details about what ensued may not be up to date.
Prelude
Immediately after their initial landings on Barlucolia, Allegans began advancing fast towards the center of the continent. Their Northern flank encountered fierce resistance near Perfex, where Pefear and Malmatel had established strong defensive lines.

Battle of Perfex
The small towns and cities West of Perfex were quickly captured by Allegan forces during their advance (see image 1 below). After a few hours, Pefear forces blew up the only bridge over Klini River (2), in hope of slowing down the enemy advance. This broke the momentum of the Allegans, allowing Pefear infantry to launch local counterattacks. However, the lack of armor in Pefear and Malmatel's ranks made it easy for Allegan tanks to cross the river, although it did take them some times. Malmatel artillery, very inacurate, didn't manage to inflict any significant casualties to the Allegans despite sustained fire during the entirety of the battle; but it did slow them down a bit.
Allegans began crossing the river South, near Lijuger, and from there advanced directly towards Perfex, encircling two Pefear infantry divisions and a Malmatel artillery battery (3). With the plains under their control, only the hills just West of Perfex still provided protection (4). However, an Allegan tank battalion entered Husaord, a few kilometers South of Perfex, and from there headed straight for the city (5). Pefear infantry, too busy with the enemy units coming from the West, couldn't stop the Allegan tanks. Pefear was under Allegan control for the moment.
A counterattack from the North with two infantry battalions allowed Pefear to attack the left flank of the enemy's main force, and forced the tanks in Perfex to leave the city, after which one of Pefear infantry units took the occasion to slip into the city, now back into the hands of Pefear as a result (6).
Unfortunately, heavy artillery fire from Allegan canons considerably weakened the morale of Pefear troops, which left the city (7). Allegan tanks re-entered it, and from then on Pefear infantry was unable to make them leave, and were forced to retreat, as many more enemy infantry divisions were approaching.

After the battle
Perfex is now under Allegan control. Noone knows what they're doing exactly. Everything happened so fast that the city was barely evacuated when the battle took place, although most of the action took place outside the city, civilian casualties as a direct result of the battle remaining low.
